Bark Park Pup-tober Fest
Community Event Film | Independent Production
The Project
A familiar place, and a community worth celebrating.
After years spent visiting the Bark Park at Ellicott Creek, Pup-tober Fest offered an opportunity to give something back through filmmaking.
Celestial Creative Co. independently documented the event, capturing the dogs, people, activities, and relationships that bring the park’s community together.
The Approach
The film was shaped around the natural energy of the event, moving from the surrounding landscape and arriving participants into dog activity, costumes, vendors, fundraising, and quieter moments of connection.
Rather than directing the action, the production observed the celebration as it unfolded. Low, dog-level cinematography places the animals at the center of the film, while aerial views establish the park and give the event a clear sense of place and scale.
The edit balances playful movement with affectionate human–dog interactions, allowing the film to develop from an energetic event portrait into a warmer reflection of the community behind it.
The Outcome
A concise community event film that documents more than the day’s activities. It presents Pup-tober Fest as part of a larger relationship between the park, its dogs, and the people who care for it.
The completed film was donated to Friends of Ellicott Island Bark Park for its own use, providing a lasting record of the celebration. The organization subsequently offered to recognize Celestial Creative Co. on its sponsor page.
